Morning devotion: Read Psalm 56

Psalms 56:8  Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? 9  When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. 10  In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word. 11  In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. 12  Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee. 13  For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

In verses 6 of this Psalm we saw the wicked marking the steps of the righteous to the intent to accuse and harm. The same type of people did the same thing to Jesus. Then used their false accusations to convict and crucify him on the cross of Calvary. We see that in our political world today.

However, verse 8 tells us that God tellest our wanderings. In other words, God counts our steps, He marks our steps. The difference is this, God is love and watches over us in a loving watch care. He sees the tears of our life and He cares. Not only does he watch, He records them in His book. Just as we make baby books of our children and record their younger years, and just as we collect pictures on our phones and record the events and happenings of life, so God does the same.

The wonderful thing about this truth is this: God will use that information in the future. For those who are born-again, God will use that information in what is called the judgment seat of Christ. It is a judgment where all of our actions and motives as a believer will be reviewed. The dross will be burned away and that which is left will be gold, silver and precious stones. With that, God will reward His own. Just as we are proud of our children and their accomplishments so God will bless us. I Corinthians 3:11-15

Another truth is this: God will use that information at the Great White throne judgement. God will judge the wicked by their works. The sad part is that there will be no reward.

Revelation 20:12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I am so glad Jesus saved me and watches over me in a different light than before I was saved. I am so glad He watches over me in love.

The choice is still yours,
