Morning devotion: Read Psalm 68

Psalms 68:7  ¶O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah: 8  The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. 9  Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary. 10  Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor. 11  The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. 12  Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil. 13  Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold. 14  When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.

It was on the mountain of Sinai that God brought the word of God to the people, specifically the ten commandments. There the mountain did shake at the presence of God.

Exodus 19:18  And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

Exodus 20, is God’s ten commandments.

Exodus 20:3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Exodus 20:4  Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Exodus 20:5  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:

Exodus 20:7  Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Exodus 20:8  Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Exodus 20:12  Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Exodus 20:13  Thou shalt not kill.

Exodus 20:14  Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Exodus 20:15  Thou shalt not steal.

Exodus 20:16  Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Exodus 20:17  Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

Not only did God give the ten commandments, He gave us the entire Bible, and great is the company of those who publish it. Whether by speaking, or writing or printing the word, great are those who publish it. Dear Christian, are you publishing the word of God? People need to hear and know there is a God that loves them and wants them to be saved. There is an innumerable amount of people that need Jesus. Publish the word.

Psalms 68:11  The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

Isaiah 52:7  ¶How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

The choice is still yours,
