Morning devotion: Read Psalm 90
The first part of this Psalm, we saw the brevity of life. Our lives are as the grass.
Then we saw the reason for that brevity, the sin of mankind.
Here we see a wonderful picture of those who are in Christ Jesus.
Psalms 90:12 ¶So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. 13 Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants. 14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. 15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. 16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. 17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
Proverbs 2:10 ¶When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 ¶Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Proverbs 3:13 ¶Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. 14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. 16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. 17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
Psalm 90:13 Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
As a Christian, are you praying that God would return and be a part of your life? Have you strayed from the Lord in any way? Will you let him be a part of your life?
Psalms 90:14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
It is of the Lord’s mercy that we are saved. It is of the Lord’s mercy that we can rejoice, even during these times.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
The Lord saved me April 7, 1979 – He gave me everlasting life and gave me a satisfied heart. He gave me peace, The peace with God – The peace of God. During this Covid 19 crisis, there is peace in my heart, for I trust in the Lord.
Do you have that peace and comfort and satisfaction in your heart?
