Morning Devotion: Read Psalm 119

Psalms 119:162  I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.

Ps 119:72  The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.

God’s word is the greatest treasure anyone could ever find. It reveals God to us. Without God revealing His word to us, we would have little to know God with.

While the word of God tells us Psalms 19:1  The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

2  Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

3  There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

4  Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

5  Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

And through the firmaments we know of God. Romans 1:20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

It is the word of God that clarifies what we have seen and what the natural things reveal to us.

Hebrews 11:3  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

The word of God tells us about Jesus and brings to us the saving knowledge of Christ.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Yet, there will be those who will not see the truth of God’s word.

John 8:42  Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43  Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

To those who have read and to those who have trusted and believed because of the word of God; the word of God is as a great spoil. It is a great treasure.

Psalms 119:162  I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.

The choice is still yours,
