Morning devotion: Read Psalm 119

Psalms 119:171  ¶My lips shall utter praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes. 172  ¶My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.

There was a great desire in David’s heart to praise the Lord.

Ps 119:7 ¶  I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

Ps 119:13 ¶  With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

Ps 119:46  I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.

When the heart is changed, there will be praise for the heart has been saved, redeemed and made new. What is there not to praise about?

The heart that has been converted by God and tought of God cannot contain itself. It must burst out the loving kindness and grace of God and His wonderful working in salvation.

Psalms 107:2  Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

For the lips to praise and the tongue to speak of the Lord is the evidence of salvation.

Philippians 3:20  For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Think about this for one moment, all of the Bible was written in praise and glory to God. All of the prophets and apostles wrote in praise to the Lord. All of creation was made and you were made to give praise and glory to God.

Revelation 4:11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

You will never run out of things with which to praise God.

John 21:25  And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

We have this wonderful truth and the wonderful opportunity to offer praise to God and for God.

Psalm 40:10  I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

Take the opportunity to go to the lost and dying world and share the glorious news that Jesus saves. Give others the same glorious message that you received, so they can give glory to God as well.

I am reminded of a song that goes like this: Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus our blessed redeemer! Sing, O Earth, His wonderful love proclaim! Hail Him! Hail Him! Highest archangels in glory; Strength and honour give to His holy name!

My dear unsaved friend, would you know the saving grace of Jesus, would you know the praise you can give?

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
