Morning Devotion: Read Psalm 119

Psalms 119:175  ¶Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments help me.

The soul lives forever, it lives in the living body and it lives forever in salvation.

God gave man that life. Genesis 2:7  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

God made man and allowed procreation of man. Each person born is a living soul. Born of God.

All souls belong to God. Job 12:10  In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

Ezekiel 18:4  Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Your soul belongs to God. You cannot sell your soul to the devil, it is not yours to sell, no matter what the song says.

Without salvation the soul is dead. James 5:20  Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

There is an eternal death for the soul as well. Matthew 10:28  And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

With salvation in Jesus Christ, the soul lives forever in Christ Jesus. Religion does not afford such a thing.

David knew these truths and praised the Lord for letting his soul live in the Lord. He was alive, he was saved and enjoyed the fruits of salvation.

Psalms 119:175  ¶Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments help me

1 Thessalonians 5:23  ¶And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lamentations 3:24  The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25  The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

Do you want your soul to live forever?

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 5:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 6:40  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 20:31  But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

The choice is still yours,
