Morning Devotion: Read Psalm 121

Psalms 121:1  ¶<<A Song of degrees.>> I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

The direction one must always look for help is the Lord. The mount is the mount of the congregation, the mount of Zion. That is where God gave the ten commandments, the law or word of God. This Psalm is another song of degrees ascending even closer to God.

While the world leans toward lying and deceit and is for war as in Psalm 120, David turns to the Lord. He lifts up his eyes to the mount, to the Lord.

The hills of God, the place where God gave His wonderful word. The place where He established the covenant with man, is the foundation of God.  Psalms 87:1 His foundation is in the holy mountains.

David looked toward the hills, He trusted in the Lord. He never trusted the hills. Never get those out of order. If that happens, your worship becomes idolatrous. John 4:23  But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

The foundation of the Lord is sure and steadfast, it is that which we as born-again believers stand. It is the place where the church stands, it is the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:11  ¶For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Our hope is always in the Lord – Psalms 121: 2  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth

Jeremiah 17:7  Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

Psalms 28:7  The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

1 Peter 5:6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

When things don’t seem to go the way they should, look to the Lord who made the mountains. Look to God who created it all.

Genesis 1:1  ¶In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

There is no greater power than the power of the one who created all things. There is no greater help than the help of the one who created all things. There is no greater one to turn to than the one who saves the eternal soul, for no one can save your soul but God.

Matthew 28:18  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Psalms 33:20  Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.

The choice is still yours,
