Morning Devotion: Read Psalm 123
Psalms 123:1 ¶<<A Song of degrees.>> Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. 2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
The believer in Christ, the believer in God, lifts his eyes unto the Lord who dwells in the heavens. We lifted our eyes to the Lord for our salvation and He gave it. We lift our eyes to the Lord for our well being and He gives it.
Our eyes are upon the Lord, not on the things of this world.
2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2Co 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
While many, even some Christians, look to this world and to other men, we should lift our eyes unto the heavens, form whence cometh our help. Heaven is where God is; we look to God. We do not hold to the doctrine of pantheism.
PAN’THEISM, The belief that the universe is God, or the system of theology in which it is maintained that the universe is the supreme God.
We look to the LORD GOD who created this world, not to the world itself.
Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
Micah 7:7 ¶Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
As the child looks to the parent, and the servant to their master and the maiden to her mistress, so we look to the Lord.
One day we will all look toward the heavens for the wonderful return of the Lord and we will be with Him forever. This old world will not longer be an influence. It will all be about the Lord.
Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
