Morning Devotion: Read Jude

Jude 1:4  For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5  I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6  And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

God esteems His word highly, in fact, so highly that there is a curse to those who would change it. 2 Peter reiterates the same thing as Jude when it comes to those who would be false prophets changing the word of God.

The sad thing is this; many people will believe the false prophets and their false words and turn against the truth and even speak evil of it. Read 2 Peter 2:2.

2 Peter 2:1  ¶But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2  And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

3  ¶And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

4  For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

5  And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

6  And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

The word “pernicious” in 2 Peter 2, means to kill and destroy. People will follow the ways of the false prophets, the wolves that sneak in, to their own destruction. We already saw several examples of change with the new versions of the bible, and there are thousands. Each change leads to perniciousness.

How many of you read and memorize a different version of the Bible than the King James Bible? If you do, you are embracing a pernicious way. Please don’t blame me or hate me or accuse me of being hard, it is God who says they are pernicious, deadly.

Let me give you another example of the changes by the pernicious and condemned people who change the word of God.

Luke 9:56  For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

In your modern versions the phrase “For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them” is left out.

Jesus did come to save men’s lives. If the message is removed what to you have left?

This is so important that God destroyed even the angels for changing God’s will.

Jude 1: 6  And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

2 Peter 2: 4  For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

My friend, the truth of the matter is this; God’s word is settled in heaven and will never change. We have it before us today in the KJV.

He promises you salvation and forgiveness of sin and a home in heaven all through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. All the other versions, yes, even the New King James, degrades the deity of Christ, and the gospel of Christ.

The choice is still yours,
