Morning Devotion: Read Jude

Jude 1:24  Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25  To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Jude closes this wonderful letter with a wonderful promise. He knows as well as every believer, that God is the only one to whom we trust to keep us from falling.

That word “falling” is the Greek word aptaistos which means apostasy. When one goes into apostasy they fall away from the Lord. They fall away from the things and truths of the Lord.

That is what this entire letter was about. It was a warning about those who would change the grace of God into lasciviousness. They would change the grace of God and destroy your relationship with Jesus.

How may people do you know that have claimed they know Christ and have eventually fallen from Christ and are no longer walking with God? In my years of ministry, I know many.

Jesus prayed for you as well. John 17:15  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Even Jesus wanted you to be safe from apostasy. He warned us as well.

Matthew 24:11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Paul said in Acts 20:29  “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30  Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, this is a very strong message for your soul is on the line.

It started in Genesis 3 – Genesis 3:1  ¶Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2  And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

It goes even until the Lord returns. Revelation 12:9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Revelation 20:8  And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

Deception comes form so many different angles and ways. It is imperative that you keep in the bible and know the truth.

Jesus, I say again, Jesus is the truth. John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He is the living word of God. Revelation 19:13  And he (Jesus) was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

My friend, know the truth and the truth will make you free.

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
