Morning Devotion: Questions and Answers
What you believe will determine how you live and how you act. If you believe there is no God you will act in like manner. For one who believes in no God will ultimately believe himself to be a god.
To believe there is no God brings one to a precipice of decision. There will always be some avenue of learning or influence by which every person makes decisions in life. You learned what you believe by someone somewhere whether it be you parents, friends, school or some person who had influence in your life.
The question is this; is what you learned the truth of not? In the story of Romeo and Juliet we find their parents hated each other. Romeo and Juliet stilled loved each other even though they were from rival families. Romeo was sent away for killing Tibalt. Juliet set up a plan to feign her death and escape to Romeo. Romeo did not know of the ruse and thought Juliet was indeed dead. He went to her grave and saw her supposed dead body and killed himself. When Juliet woke from her ruse, she saw Romeo dead. She then killed herself. Why did all this happen? It happened because Romeo possessed only a portion of the truth. He believed something that was totally wrong. The evidence was pointed in one direction when in fact something else was going on.
People will often react to information given by others which cause them to make wrong and sometimes even deadly decisions.
Proverbs 14:12 ¶There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Knowing the truth is always the key to making the right decisions is life. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
We will start this series with this one question: Does God exist?
Answer: Yes. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The bible declares the existence of God. If you do not believe in God your basic questions of life will be different.
Three Basic Questions – – For centuries, man has asked 3 basic questions:
1) Where did I come from? 2) Why am I here? 3) Where am I going?
The Word of God answers that question in one verse: Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Another verse helps us with that: Romans 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
If you do not believe in God, you will have dismal answers to the three basic questions of life.
1) Where did I come from?
If you do not believe in God, the only alternative is evolution. You believe you came from primordial soup.
2) Why am I here?
If you do not believe in God, you will have a dismal outlook on life for you have no real purpose and you will choose myriad ways to try and make yourself happy.
3) Where am I going?
If you do not believe in God, you will have a dismal future. You will believe you are just as a piece of meat or like some animal and will die and the worms will consume you.
If you do believe in God, you will know you came from God, you are here for God and one day you will can go to and be with God. That my friend is a great outlook.
Let’s go back to Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Does God exist? The question is answered by faith. We all believe in science, not science so falsely called, but real science. Let’s look at this verse.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning (that is time) God created the heaven (that is space) and the earth (that is matter).
In our physical world you need time space and matter to exist. You need all three of these at the same moment. You cannot have existence if any one of these three are missing. Since God is the creator of time space and matter, he is beyond these elements of the physical.
If you believe in evolution and the big bang, the question is this: Where did the infinitesimal dot come from?
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
The choice is still yours,
