Morning Devotion: Questions and Answers

Question: Is the Bible reliable for today? Answer: Yes

“It is impossible to mentally or socially enslave a Bible-reading people.” Horace Greeley

The Bible has the answers to all, all of life and the endeavors of life.

2 Timothy 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The Bible is profitable for:

Doctrine – What is right

Reproof – What is not right

Correction – How to get right

Instruction in righteousness – How to stay right

The Bible was given by God, God, who created the heaven and the earth, revealed to man His divine word and will through the Bible. God who is beyond time, space and matter, for He is a Spirit, has given us His word which transcends time and is pertinent for all times.

It is given by God who is omniscient (all knowing).  The Bible details God’s creation, current events and the future revelation. It tells us what is going on right now with the world and all the medical and social change. It covers everything.

Revelation 1:8  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

It is relevant for everything we experience today. The Bible is written for our learning.

Romans 15:4  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

For those who are born-again, the Bible is the only book ever written, where the author is present when you read it. You just have to read it.

John 16:13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14  He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

1 Corinthians 2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

More importantly, the Bible teaches one how Christ Jesus can save the sinful soul and give one eternal life.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30  “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
