Morning Devotion: Questions and Answers

Question: Is Jesus God? Answer: Yes

Jesus is the sum and substance of Christianity. He is the center, the essence of Christianity. Without Jesus you have nothing.

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2  The same was in the beginning with God. 3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Who was with God? The word was with God. Who is the Word? Jesus is the word. John 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 1:3 tell us all things were made by Him. Jesus was there at creation. He is the creator.

In Genesis we find God made man in His own image. Genesis 1:26  ¶And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:…

The bible says “Let us make man in OUR image.”

Who is He talking about when He says “our?” He is talking about the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Those three are one.

You are made a soul, a spirit and a body. Three in one. God is three in one.

1 John 5:7  For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Jesus said in John 10:30  “I and my Father are one.”

Colossians 2:9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Isn’t that wonderful, those who trust in Jesus are complete. They are saved and restored to the natural created image of God. WOW! What a blessing.

There are some who would say that Jesus is not God, quoting several verses.

Isaiah 43:11  I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Isaiah 45:22  Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23  I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

You should have no problem with these when you realize Jesus is God. He is the Savoir.

Luke 2:11  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

God made Himself flesh and He was Jesus.

1 Timothy 3:16  And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Philippians 2:6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Read verse 10 and 11 again. Where have you seen that before.

Isaiah 45:22  Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23  I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

There you have it, Jesus is God who was manifest in the flesh to die on calvary’s cross for you. Would you place your faith and trust in Jesus? Would you be saved today?

The choice is still yours,
