Morning Devotion: Questions and Answers
Question: Should Christians live differently from the world? Answer: Yes.
How do know what course to take in my Christian walk?
God’s word gives us all the answers for living for Him. That is the key, “living for Him.”
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Here are some biblical principles to help in living for Jesus.
1. Always seek God’s approval for what you do.
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
1. Does the activity violate a direct command from God?
2. Will God be glorified through my participation in it?
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
2. Check yourself, will what you do alter your relationship with God?
1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
What effect will it have on my body or my mind?
Would the Lord be happy with what I am doing when He returns?
Would I want everyone to know what I did?
Can I thank the Lord for what I am doing?
3. Look around you.
1 Corinthians 8:12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
What affect will this have the unsaved or the person I am trying to win to Christ?
Does this have an appearance of evil?
1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
What affect will it have on my brothers and sisters in Christ?
Will it cause my brothers or sisters in Christ to falter in their walk with Christ?
2 Corinthians 13:5a Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.
The above questions are there to help in your walk with God in Christ Jesus.
MY friend, these are principles that God will help you with if you seek Him first. The first step in living for God is to be saved. Then God will give you the wherewithal to serve Him.
