Morning Devotion: Questions and Answers

Question: I heaven real? Answer: Yes

The very centrepice of Heaven will be the New Jerusalem or Zion. After the tribulation period and after the millennium period and after the great white throne judgment, God will make a new heaven and a new earth. We being in God’s eternal state will be with God and He will be with us.

Revelation 21:1  ¶And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

This beautiful place will be inhabited by angels and believers. (Believers are not angels and they do not have wings, contrary to popular opinion.) However, there will be both believer and angels in heaven.

Heb 12:22  But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

That city is called the bride the lambs wife. Who is this bride? Why it is the church.

Revelation 21:9  ¶And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

10  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11  Having the glory of God:…

Speaking about the church Paul writes. 2 Corinthians 11:2  For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

The word of God compares the church to a marriage and family union.

Ephesians 5:24  Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Ephesians 5:32  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

The church, comprised only of born-again believers will be with Christ, for there is no church apart from Christ. All the saints, believers from all ages will be there.

Revelation 21:24  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

We as believers look forward to this wonderful city.

Hebrews 11:10  For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

Hebrews 11:16  But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

And only those whose names are written in the Lambs book of life will be there. Is your name written in the Lamb’s (Christ’s) book of life? He is the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world.

Revelation 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

John 1:29  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 10:28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 John 5:11  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

There is simply no other way to be in the Lamb’s book of life apart from Jesus.

Will your name be there?

The choice is still yours,
