Morning Devotion: Read: Luke 2 – Christmas Story – MERRY CHIRSTMAS

Luke 2:1  And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

2  (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3  And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4  And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5  To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6  And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7  And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Galatians 4:4  But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

In the fulness of time God sent our Lord Jesus Christ to this earth. We celebrate the birth of Jesus at this time knowing it of the Lord that we are saved. What a wonderful blessed hope the believer has.

The fulness of time; everything revolves around God’s timing. God sent His Son at a time when He chose.

The time was coming out of a Greek world into Roman dominance. The world was being transformed into Roman highways while the world spoke the Greek language. The Jews were being dominated by Rome and there was much turmoil in the land.

It was at this time that God sent forth His Son kept His promise.

Isaiah 7:14  Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Micah 5:2  But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

The Christ Child was born where God wanted and how God determined at the time God planned.

God planned that all the world would be taxed and that Joseph and Mary would have to travel a great distance to give birth. They, as well as you and I would think it was to be taxed, God knew it was for a greater purpose.

Some times we look at things from the perspective of the our earthly being and our sight rather than through the lens of God’s will. His will was the birth of Christ at the right time for the salvation of the world, for your salvation.

We are going through another great plan of God on a global scale, it is all designed by God. In the right time, God will send forth His Son again.

In the end times, another person who raises taxes will take the place of Herod and take over the nations by flatteries. He is antichrist.

Daniel 11:20  Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.

21  ¶And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

The original Herod was destroyed by worms, but the antichrist, as described in Daniel 11, takes his place in world history. Read Acts 12: 21-25

At the end of this time, the great tribulation, God will send His Son once again to rule and reign, just as He planned.

Revelation 19:11  ¶And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The point is this, God keeps His planned will at His planned time in His planned way.

Isaiah 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

You have a choice, be in God’s plan on the good and right side with Jesus or be in the plan on the opposite side.

The choice is still yours,
