Morning Devotion: Read Hebrews
Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
One offering, one sacrifice, one time and one time only, did Jesus give Himself an offering, a sacrifice for sin. And as this text says, “there is no more offering for sin.”
So, why do people continually take communion, and go to confessionals and pay for indulgences and buy candles and a host of others things to be saved?
There is no more offering for sin; Jesus paid it all. There is no need to do all these other things to be saved. So, why do people subject themselves to such ordinances?
The Lord Jesus Christ gave himself in the volume of the book and paid the sin debt of the whole world.
Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
In other words, Jesus came meeting every requirement and fulfilling every command and word of God; we was the lamb without blemish, without sin sacrificed for you.
Neither you nor I have ever fulfilled all the word of God in a perfect manner. We are sinners in need of a saviour. Jesus never sinned. Did you get that; Jesus never ever sinned. You sin and you sin everyday. Jesus never sinned. That is why he was the perfect sacrifice.
We cannot keep the ten commandments let alone keep the entire word of God. Jesus fulfilled the volume of the book, every word.
With all that being said, we find that once the Lord Jesus made the complete and perfect sacrifice on calvary’s cross, “there is no more offering for sin.”
Can you imagine how free you are in Christ Jesus? You no longer need to go through the rituals, and rights, and edicts, and sacraments to be saved, you can just trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and be free.
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Don’t be shackled by religion, be free in Christ Jesus. “Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe.”
The choice is still yours,
