Morning Devotion: Read Luke - John the Baptist The Forerunner of Jesus
Luke 3:1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, 2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. 3 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; 4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; 6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
Remember, John the Baptist was born six months before our Lord Jesus Christ. God tells that John was to be the forerunner of the Lord.
Isaiah 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: 5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
His message was “prepare ye the way of the Lord.”
Are you ready to meet Jesus? Have you prepared the way for the Lord in your heart?
2025 brings us one step closer to the end time when the Lord will make all things right. Every valley will be exalted (lifted up) and every mountain will be brought low (made flat) the crooked will be made strait and the rough places plain. In other words, the lord will make things as they were in Genesis before the flood, before the fountains of the deep were broken up and the catastrophic flood came which destroyed all the breathing living creatures to include mankind.
Daniel speaks of a fourth beast that would rise up and take control I the end times.
Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. 8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Could this fourth beast be the revived Roman Empire? Could this new era we are in now, be the setting of the stage for the world wide takeover prepared for the antichrist?
With all these questions, there is one answer, Jesus. Jesus will be victorious and be the only one who conquers and cast the devil into hell and make things new. John was the one who preached these truths setting the way for Jesus.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Revelation 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
