Morning Devotion: Read Luke

Luke 3:23  And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, 24  Which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Janna, which was the son of Joseph,

Luke 3:31  Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David, 32  Which was the son of Jesse, which was the son of Obed, which was the son of Booz, which was the son of Salmon, which was the son of Naasson,

I would encourage you to read all of the genealogy from verse 23 down to verse 38. It is quite interesting.

This is the genealogy of Mary the mother of Jesus. Luke being a doctor makes a very clear listing go genealogies here. This was and still is required to show pedigree when it comes to the priesthood of the Old Testament.

The rest of this chapter deals with the genealogy of Mary, not Joseph. The genealogy of Joseph is found in Matthew's Gospel. Matthew's genealogy begins with Abraham and comes down to the Lord Jesus Christ through David and through Solomon. The legal title to the throne came through Joseph.

Mary’s father was Heli while Joseph’s father was Jacob. Joseph’s genealogy flows through Solomon and Mary’s genealogy flows through Nathan who were both sons of David.

The royal bloodline is still available for all to see. The genealogy is given to establish that Jesus was of the throne of David as prophesied in the scriptures.

Isaiah 9:7  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Mary had the blood of David in her veins. Mary was of the royal seed. As said before, Mary was not born through Heli and his wife of immaculate conception. This is a falsehood that has trapped many people into a false religion of mariolatry. We have before us the true word of God revealing the true genealogy, the true bloodline of Mary.

The point is this, know the truth about who and what you worship. Your eternal welfare depends upon it.

Recently there has been an old rhetoric brought to the forefront of Jesus being born of a Roman centurion making our Lord a common man. This is a lie to pervert people’s minds. It also may be used against true bible believing Christians through the Noahide laws which may come into affect via the Abrahamic accord and the Peace treaty that ratifies it all with Israel and the middle east.

We also have the idea perpetrated the Jesus was the product of immaculate conception giving the idea that Mary was divine. That is another falsehood to bring in false religion.

Jesus was born of God through the Holy Ghost, not man’s intervention.

Matthew 1:18  Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Luke 1:35  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

When you read the bible you will find the truth.

John 8:32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
