Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs - Naughty, Naughty

Proverbs 6:12  A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth. 13  He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; 14  Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. 15  Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy. 16  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17  A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18  An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19  A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Do you have the capability to spot the naughty person? Can you identify that person when you speak with him or her? God gives us some veery practical advice when it come to the naughty person.

When you read this passage you begin to see some nuances that help you identify such a person.

This type of person, is subtle and suggestive and forward or proud.

Winking with the eyes, speaking with his feet and teaching with the fingers suggest a subtlety that is not to be followed.

I know a man who was a very good salesman. As soon as he would meet a person in the store, he would begin by complimenting them for choosing his store. He would always nod his head affirmatively throughout the entire conversation until he closed the deal.  He would wink and point and walk in such a way as to lead the customer to his product of choice, not theirs. He would show cheapest product for sale and brow beat the product eventually leading the customer to the better more expensive product all the while doing so in such manner as make the customer think they were making each division on their own. He loved nodding his head, after a while the customer would nod their heads in approval at each subtle suggestion. Eventually the customer would buy the product he suggested all with the nodding of the head and winking of the eye.

The bible says the naughty person is froward and deviseth mischief and eventually sows discord. Are you considered a naughty person in God’s eyes.

Remember, the father is teaching the son wisdom, wisdom about the naughty person no doubt obtained from the LORD and by personal experience.

The LORD expounds on the naughty person revealing even more things to look for and evaluate and yes, even judge.

Proverbs 6:16  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17  A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18  An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19  A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Are you such a person, one who winks, has a proud look, and subtly tells lies, and are suggestive in your mannerisms? Do you devise naughty things in your heart? Do you subtly or suggestively sow discord among the brethren?

God tells us He resists the proud, the naughty person, but gives grace to the humble.

James 4:6  But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Ephesians 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

The choice is still yours,
