Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 16:31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.
Job 32:7b…Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.
The hoary head is simply the grey headed or white haired person. The idea is that with age should come wisdom. However, we know the age does not always bring wisdom.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.
We know that only God can provide true answers. Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
If you are not going to God and seeking His will and wisdom in all aspects of life both physically and spiritually you are probably lacking in true godly wisdom and walking in the wisdom of the world.
Claiming to be born again and living in worldly wisdom is being double minded and brings instability in all your ways. You cannot have both; you cannot straddle the line close to sin riding the fence and expect God to bless you with godly wisdom. Choose you this day whom ye will serve.
True wisdom comes from above, from God and His word.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

If one be found in the way of righteousness the way he lives will reveal he is indeed wise.
James 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
The godly wise person has a different way conversation and a different way of living.
It is interesting to note that when Elihu said in Job 32:9; “Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.” He was the youngest of the those who were with Job. He had more wisdom than the grey hoary heads that were there.
Being found in the way of righteousness is being found in God’s way. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness. Romans 10:10.
