Morning Devotion: Read Luke
Luke 18:15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
Matthew 19:13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. 15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
Mark 10:13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. 16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
It is a known fact that if you bring up your child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord starting at a early age, they will have a solid foundation from which the rest of their life can be based.
Communism, socialism and other nefarious peoples and organizations know the principle that if they can get your child from a young age until five years old they can indoctrinate them of life. This principle has been practiced all over the world.
Why would a parent not want their child to know the way the truth and the life who is Jesus? Why a parent would not want their child to have the best in this world and for all eternity?
Luke 18:16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
In Matthew, Mark and Luke, we see children being brought to Jesus. This is a perfect example of how important it is for children to be introduced to Jesus and salvation and great truth and peace for all eternity.
This example marks the simplicity of trusting Christ as Lord and Saviour. Most people have to attach dogmatism and religion, performance and a host of other activities and practices to get saved. Jesus points out a very important truth.
Luke 18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
Mark 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
My friend, if you have never placed your faith and trust in Jesus, would you take the time to see how simple it is to do so; even a child can see the simplicity of trust.
The choice is still yours,
Pastor Cook
