Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 31:8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. 9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
Proverbs 24:11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; 12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
Psalms 82:3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. 4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
Open thy mouth, speak for those who cannot speak for themselves or for those who are dumb without speech.
The word dumb does not mean ignorant it means without speech. It means to be mute; silent; not speaking. I was dumb with silence; I held my peace. Psalms 34:1. It means to be destitute of the power of speech; unable to utter articulate sounds; as the dumb brutes.
Do you realize the unsaved, the non-believer will have nothing to say to the Lord in defence of their self-righteousness in the day of judgment. They may speak but their words will be as in a mute court, without value.
I Never Knew You - Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
It is the Christian, who on the behalf of the Lord, who speaks to those who are without hope and helps them see the truth of salvation in Christ Jesus.
It is the believer who judges righteously and pleads the cause of the poor and needy in prayer before the Lord seeking their salvation.
Proverbs 31:8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. 9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
I know many believers who pray daily for their loved ones and friends and even enemies to come to a point of understanding that Jesus is the way the truth and the life. They plead their cause to God in hope that they may see the truth.
Did you know, there is no believer who does not have a voice with God. There is no believer who is dumb before the Lord. Each born-again believer is a child of the King and as a child has a voice with God. Do you exercise that voice; do you spend time in prayer to the Lord.
My Christian friend, don’t waist your voice by being dumb or mute with God. Lift up your voice, be the intercessor and plead to God for an opportunity to share the gospel with them.
Proverbs 31:8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. 9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
The choice its still yours,
