Morning Devotion: Read Exodus - Ten Commandments
Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Again, we come to another issue between man and man; the issue is not man with man but the heart of man.
Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Adultery starts in the heart, just as with any sin.
Proverbs 6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
I believe our country is filled with murder and adultery. Everywhere you look, tv, internet, cell phone, music and a host of other places you see this agenda promoted.
Hosea 4:1 ¶Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
God has controversy with this country as well for this country has committed all these things. Do you?, have you?
As we saw yesterday, the heart manifest itself in action.
Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
The heart that walks in the Spirit manifests itself in a different way. It is focused on the Lord Jesus Christ not the satisfying of the flesh and its lusts.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
In Jesus, all things are new, new heart, new mind, new way of thinking and doing. You move from ungodly to godly, from unforgiven to forgiven; a new future awaits those who are in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
What’s on your mind, or what’s on your heart?
Would you give your heart to Jesus?
The choice is still yours,
