Morning Devotion: Read Luke - Denial of God’s work
Luke 12:8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. 10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. 11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: 12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
To reject Christ is to reject the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. It is the supreme denial of God’s work in your life?
Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
The book of Mark gives us a clearer explanation the above verse.
Mark 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: 30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
To deny Christ is to deny the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. Remember, the context is denying Christ work. If one denies Christ they deny God’s through the Holy Spirit and that cannot be forgiven.
It is God that saves, Jesus paid, and the Holy Spirit draws and does the work in the heart. The Holy Spirit is called the comforter.
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
If there is no conviction of sin by the Holy Spirit of God there is no salvation. To claim you are saved by any other way is blasphemy of the work and person of the Holy Spirit. In other words blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is simply unbelief.
You will never be forgiven or have forgiveness as long as you remain in unbelief.
Paul clarifies that for us in 1Timothy 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; 13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.”
Every time you are presented with the gospel of Jesus Christ and you reject it, you reject the Holy Spirit.
The Pharisees attributed the work of the Lord to an unclean spirit, to Beelzebub.
A true born again believer cannot and will not blaspheme the Holy Spirit through unbelief. They are saved, regenerated, and the Holy Spirit dwells within. A true believer cannot be unforgiven nor lose their salvation.
How do you react when presented with the truth and need of salvation?
The choice is still yours,
