Morning Devotion Read Ezekiel

Ezekiel 33:11  Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

God has no delight, no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He is not happy when people die in their sins without the saving faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

In Ezekiel chapter 33 there is a solemn warning given; if a person believes that their righteousness will deliver them while they live in sin, they are mistaken.

Ezekiel 33:13  When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

Ezekiel 33:17  Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. 18  When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. 19  But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

God’s ways are not your ways and God’s thoughts are not like your thoughts for no man can manipulate God.

How many believe that their goodness will afford them a place in heaven? God came to call sinners to repentance not those who believe they are righteous. (Those who believe they are righteous and are not are called “self righteous”.)

Luke 5:32  I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Some may say, the Lord is not equal, or the Lord is not right or that’s not right or whatever they say to justify themselves toward self-righteousness, thinking their goodness is enough.

Ephesians 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3:5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Never believe that your good works will deliver you in the day of judgment.

Only Jesus saves.

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Coo
