Morning Devotion: Read Ezekiel 38-39

Ezekiel 38:1  And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2  Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3  And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 4  And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: 5  Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: 6  Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

There is no doubt that God’s word will be fulfilled. Many are concerned about what is happening in the world today. World events are changing the very culture of which we live. It is our responsibility to see and know what is going on and that we are aware for the glory of God.

Knowing what is about to happen ought to engender great faith as we see God working according to His word.  Matthew 5:18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Gog, Magog, Mechech are terms referring to Russia. Persia, (Modern Iran) Ethiopia (Africa), and Lybia refer to the middle east. Gomer refers to Germany and Togarmah to Turkey. All these create and alliance that will descend upon Israel wanting their destruction.

We see this alliance already taking place as we watch the what is happening in the United Nations.

However, their destruction will be exacted by God.

They will be destroyed by earthquakes and by turning upon each other. (Ezekiel 38:20-21)

They will be destroyed by fire, Ezekiel 39:6.

Only one sixth of the entire army of nations will survive. Ezekiel 39:2.

They will run with their tail tucked.

The country of Israel comprises less than one percent of the worlds population. Why does the world hate them? The answer is because they are God’s people and the world hates God.

Israel will emerge victorious because God will fight for them.

As believers in Christ Jesus, we can look to God for our help as well. He will never leave us nor forsake us. As the world turns and because more hostile, we must keep our eyes upon Jesus.

Luke 21:10  Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: 11  And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. 12  But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

Luke 21:28  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Trust in the Lord, do not despair He is a friend so true, no matter what the troubles are, Jesus will see you through.

My friend, would you place your faith and trust in Jesus? Would you be saved today? The afore mentioned activities will happen and Jesus will be exalted.

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
