Morning Devotion: Read Revelation

Revelation 21:24  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

One day there will be a great gathering of saints from the four corners of the earth and they will be brought to heaven. There will be the gathering of those raptured and those of the great tribulation. Those gathered are the Christians, the saints of God.

Matthew 24:29  Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30  And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

There will be another gathering of those who are saved, born again.

Matthew 13:41  The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42  And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43  Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Only those who are saved will be in heaven. Only those who have been made clean by the blood of the lamb, Jesus, will be there. Only those who were made perfect (for perfection is the requirement for heaven) by the blood of the Lamb will be there.

Our text tells us that there will be nothing that defiles, or works abomination or makes a lie will be there. In other words, there will be no sin in heaven, none whatsoever. There will be no sinner there, only the redeemed will be there.

Revelation 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

The only ones in heaven will those who’s names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Is your name written in the Lamb’s book of life?

If your name is not in the Lamb’s book of life there is only one other destination  for you.

Revelation 20:15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The Lamb is the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation in the Lamb, the Lord Jesus is the only way to have your name written in the Lamb’s book of life.

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
