Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 28:2 For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
We live in a state of constant change. The transgression of a land is by the ruin of its governing body. If the governing body is in constant change the princes, those who are secondary in power are in constant change as well. Whenever you have a governing body that is operating without God you have transgression, transgression of God’s laws.
But, a man of understanding and knowledge operating under the law of God will prolong the state of that land.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Isaiah gives us a wonderful description of the Lord Jesus who has understanding and knowledge.
Isaiah 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
One day, there will be consistency in the land. It will be established by the Lord Jesus Christ when He returns as described in the book of Revelation.
Paul the Apostle prayed for the church in the same manner. He wanted this dear church to be filled with knowledge and understanding.
Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Until the Lord returns, will you be the one to exercise knowledge and understanding in your land? Will you walk worthy of the Lord?
My dear friend, if you are not a born again believer in Christ Jesus, would you be the one to trust Him and let Him guide you into all truth? Would you let Him save your soul?
In the midst of all the transgressions of the land in our world today, there is peace, there is Jesus.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
The choice is still yours,
