Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 26:1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.
It has often been said that a person who is deemed crazy, does not know they are so. A fool is often in the same category.
A fool is one who does not know the God of heaven though they may think they do. Religion produces many fools for religion (the word meaning to work) is someone working to appease God for salvation through merit. While Christianity or the Christian is someone who has a relationship with God the Father, which is salvation, in and through Jesus Christ. Jesus paid it all.
The next twelve verses in Proverbs 26 deal with the fool.
Remember the fool has said in their heart, no, to God.
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Psalm 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
Proverbs 26:1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.
Both illustrations, the snow in summer and the rain during harvest, are happenings that cause great distress and harm. Snow in summer ruins the budding crop and rain in harvest brings too much moister and cannot be reaped nor dried in a timely manner.
So the fool who is in honour, or leadership or with undue influence, is out of order and causes great distress. It’s not seemly or in the right place.
As you read the scriptures, you will see that God uses foolish leaders to accomplish his will.
Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. 16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
Who is leading you?
A bible believing Christian cannot be possessed and should not be led by unclean spirits for the two cannot dwell together. The fool who says they know God and does not, is easily led as we saw in the false prophet in the end times.
Do you say you know God and refuse to place your faith and trust in Jesus?Even the devil believes in God and he is not saved.
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Jesus said in John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
John 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
To refuse Jesus is to say no to God.
The choice is still yours,
