Morning Devotion: Read Exodus - God speaks with Moses

Exodus 3:6  Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. 7  And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; 8  And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9  Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. 10  Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

God sees and God knows and God is very aware of our circumstances in our personal lives.

As said before, God knew Israel was going to be spared from the famine (Read Genesis 41 -50) and He knew Israel would and prosper there in the land of Goshen.

In her prosperity Israel became a threat to Egypt and the Egyptian King, Pharaoh, subjugated them and made them slaves and became taskmasters over them. Israel was put under bondage and cruel servitude.

God saw all of this and planned that Moses would be the one person that God would use to deliver Israel from her cruelty.

My friend, God knows exactly where you are and what circumstances you are experiencing.

Exodus 3:7  And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

Psalm139:1  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. 2  Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. 3  Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. 4  For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. 5  Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. 6  Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. 7  Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10  Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

God not only knows He desires to help you in your time of trouble.

Exodus 3:8  And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

God sees, knows and desires to help and deliver His own children in time of need.

If you are not a child of God, you are on your own, much like the Egyptians in the book of Exodus. There are two sides to this equation; what side are you on?

There are God’s people and the people of the world.

God wants you to know, you can be part of God’s people simply by turning from sin and placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Faith in Christ Jesus makes you a part of the family of God and affords the blessings of God.

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
