Morning Devotion: Read Exodus

Exodus 6:10  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 11  Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land. 12  And Moses spake before the LORD, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips? 13  And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

Exodus 6:29  That the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, I am the LORD: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee. 30  And Moses said before the LORD, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?

Exodus 4:10  And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

Moses was concerned over his speaking ability. He called himself a person of uncircumcised lips, meaning he could not form words well or his diction was lacking or some other speaking ability was lacking.

My friend, God can use anything or anyone no matter what their supposed weakness is.

God used Paul who considered himself in the same situation.

2 Corinthians 11:6  But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

2 Corinthians 10:10  For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

Some believe Paul also had problems with his eyes as well. (Galatians 6:11)

God used Paul just as he was.

Galatians 4:13  Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. 14  And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

Paul was willing to trust the Lord to be used of the Lord just as he was. In fact Paul rejoiced in his infirmities because his weakness drove him to the Lord for strength.

2Corinthians 12:8  For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

God used Moses just as he was.

Exodus 7:1  And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

In your weakness, would you trust the Lord to strengthen you and sustain you and use you for His glory. John 15:5b …for without me ye can do nothing.

Moses and Paul are great examples showing us that the Lord can use anyone.

God is not looking for perfect people, He is looking for willing people.

Christian, will you let the Lord use you?

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
