Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 27:8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.
I wonder, how many folks have wandered from the will of God? How many have left the nest and the comfort of the Lord; they have left His provision and watch-care only to find themselves lost not knowing which direction to turn?
King David speaks of the sparrow who finds her nest in the house of the Lord around the altars of God. She finds peace, comfort and security in the Lord.
Psalm 84:3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God. 4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
When you allow God to guid you, you experience purpose and direction in life.
Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
Psalm 119:133 Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
Where is your place in the will of God? What is the will of God fro your life? Do you know or are you wondering around trying to find it trying to find purpose?
The word of God shows you what the will of God is.
Jesus said in John 6:40 that the will of God is that in Jesus whom God has sent. “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
The first step of being God’s will is that you trust in Jesus and be saved.
God’s will for the believer is that you walk in the knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord.
Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Today, as you start your day, pray that you would walk in the will of God abstaining from sin and embracing God as He orders your steps in His word.
Read God’s word and seek Him in prayer, you will find His will there.
Proverbs 27:8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.
