Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 24:5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. 6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Wisdom is the strength of those who have it. The wisdom of God leads one to seek knowledge and that in itself brings increase.
Remember, Solomon is giving these proverbs to his son so that he may have equity or increase rather than ruin.
Proverbs 1:3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
Proverbs 2:9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
He goes on to say that by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war. That does not mean he goes around looking for a fight. It means he chooses his battles wisely and the ones he chooses to engage in will bring equity or profit.
The battles he chooses are those affirmed by a multitude of counsellors. We have a multitude of counsellors. Our multitude of counsellors are called the 66 books of the bible. The bible is filled with wisdom and counsel for anyone who chooses to read and follow its precepts, concepts and truth.
A wonderful thing to know about the bible is that is was written by God using holy men via the Holy Spirit.
2Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Our bible, the Kings James Bible, is literally God breathed into the hearts of holy men. So, whenever a believer reads the bible, the author is present to help him or her understand it.
Jesus affirmed that for us when He said the Holy Spirit will show you what He said.
John 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Wisdom learns of the Lord and follows the Lord; the result of doing so there is equity.
Proverbs 24:5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. 6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
The greatest of riches one can ever have is the richness of eternal life. Do you have it?
2Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
The choice is still yours,
