Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 25:4 Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer. 5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.
Proverbs 17:3 The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.
Dross are the impurities that permeate good metals like Gold and Silver. Those metals must go through a refining fire or a smelting process allowing the impurities to rise to the top of the molten metal. The impure scum is scraped off resulting in a pure metal.
My friend, the impurities of the heart have only to be purged by the Lord Jesus Christ in salvation. God has laid upon Jesus Christ all of your iniquities and impurities at Calvary. Jesus paid for your sins.
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
It is after men are saved, born again, that there is need daily to insure their hearts are pure with God.
2 Timothy 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
1John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
How does one do that; how does a born again, bible believing Christian purify himself once he is pure in Christ Jesus?
It is very simple, draw nigh to God through His word; Read God’s word and do what the bible says.
It is very simple, draw nigh to God in prayer, seeking His will through HIs word. The procedure is simple, determine to read God’s word. Pick up your bible and open it. Before you begin pray and ask God to show you His will in His word. When you read it God will show you what is right and what is wrong.
When you read of a wrong that is in your life pray and confess it to God, forsake it and move forward leaving it behind.
If you find a promise in God’s word, claim and make it your own.
If you find a challenge that requires a step of faith, take it trusting God to help you.
Proverbs 25:4 Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer. 5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.
Let’s apply that to kings and thrones and dominions: if those kings and presidents and prime ministers and leaders would lead and do those things in God’s word their capacity to make wise decisions would be greatly blessed by the God of heaven.
Let’s make it personal, if you would do the same thing, your life would be established in righteousness.
Can you imagine a world established in righteousness? It will happen when Jesus returns.
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
It all starts with trusting the Lord Jesus Christ to save your soul.
The choice is still yours,
