Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs

Proverbs 25:1  These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out. 2  It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

In this portion of scriptures it is the men of Hezekiah king of Juda who wrote them. Solomon wrote the Proverbs, the book of Ecclesiastes and the Song of Solomon. The. Men of Hezekiah wrote more of what Solomon gave.

Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

What God has given us is called the bible, God’s holy word. Even that is too much for most people. Most people don’t read God’s word yet have great opinion of it.

God does not reveal everything to us. With our finite minds the knowledge of God would be too much for us to handle. What we need to know is given to us, the rest is concealed from us. Why?

Isaiah 55:8  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

God’s way are so high and His thoughts so inscrutable that we would not be able to comprehend it all. This He gives us what we need.

This world cannot contain all the that there is to know about God.

John 21:25  And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

So, what are we to do with what we have?

2Timothy 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

I am convinced, if we as believers would follow what we already know about God and His word, 90% of all our problems would vanish.

Read, study, memorize and live what God has already given to you. Don’t worry about the rest. Let God take care of that.

When we as born again bible believing Christians get to heaven, God will let us know the rest. Until then live, serve, worship and give God all the glory due His name.

The choice is still your,
