Morning Devotion: Read Luke

Luke 23:33  And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 34  Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. 35  And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God. 36  And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, 37  And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself. 38  And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

What we have before us is the greatest event in all of history.  Jesus Christ came to save you and I from our sins. This could never happen if He had not gone to the cross of calvary.

We all are separated from God because of sin. The only reconciliation is Christ and His shed blood on the cross of calvary.

Ephesians 2:13  But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14  For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15  Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16  And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17  And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

Colossians 1:20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Philippians 2:8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross

Why the cross? The cross was the place where Jesus shed His blood; it is the place where all of our sins, the sins of the whole world, from beginning to end were placed on Him.

Isaiah 53:6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

1Peter 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Jesus opened the door that you may enter in; He made the way so that you could be saved from the penalty of sin which is hell.

No one, absolutely no one can escape the penalty of sin without Jesus. No Jesus, no salvation, know Jesus, know salvation.

Only through Jesus can one ever even come close to the God the Father. Read Ephesians 2:16 again.

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Now, everyone who is trusting in baptism or communion or prayers to saints or lighting candles or praying our father or hail Mary thinking they can get to heaven have no salvation.

1Timothy 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

(No priest, no father, no pope, no cardinal, no saint,  no human alive or dead can save your soul.)

You must accept the fact or reject the fact that Jesus went to the cross, shed His blood to bear and pay the sin debt for all mankind. If you do not accept that wonderful truth, you have no salvation.

1Corinthians 1:18  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

The choice is still yours,
