Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 17:3 The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.
The fining pot is the forge of the Lord working in the hearts of His own purifying their hearts for His honour and glory.
God uses the trial of fire to change the heart.
1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
1Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Are you willing to be like Job who trusted in the trial of purification looking at the end result of being what God wanted hi to be?
Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Let’s face it everyone is either going into a trial or in the midst of trial or coming out of a trial. How you handle that trial defines your relationship with the Lord and what the Lord is doing for you and in you.
If you will notice, in Job 23:10, Job looks beyond the trial and sees the end result.
When we come to the place in our relationship with the Lord, seeing His sovereignty coupled with his great love and mercy and grace, we will see the end result is good for us and glorifies Him.
Paul, by the word of God gives a great truth. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Proverbs 17:3 The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.
When God lights the forge of trial in your life will you be willing to trust Him as He brings the dross to the surface making the gold more pure. The dross are the impurities of your life.
Proverbs 27:21 As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.
Would you be willing to give God praise for what you are going through or will you grumble and complain and accuse God for allowing trouble in you life? Or, would you welcome God’s intervention in your life.
Psalm 26:1 A Psalm of David. Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide. 2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. 3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.
How you respond to trials defines your character and relationship with the Lord.
The choice is till yours,
