Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 22:12 The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.
The LORD’s eyes are over His own word. He preserves His word. Those who transgress His word will be overthrown,
If we take the time to consider Proverbs 22:12 we must ask the question, what is God’s word?
My friend God’s word is His own. By God’s word man is blessed and man is cursed. The world was created by God’s and by God’s word man was created.
It is by God’s word that you and I exist. Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
It is by God’s word that you and I are saved. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
1Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
The word of God speaks of Jesus the one and only Saviour of the world.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
It is by the word of God that you and I are ultimately judged.
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
The question, “What is God’s word?” must be answered because God’s word is over all. Both life and death and governance is predicated upon God’s word.
God’s word is not what man says, nor is it some modern version of the bible delivered to us through dynamic equivalence. It is what thus saith the Lord. For, by the word of God the transgressors are overthrown.
God’s word is what thus saith the LORD. Any deviation form God’s word will bring condemnation.
Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
The great thing about the King James Bible is that it was translated word for word from the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic. The was no dynamic equivalency involved. No opinion of man was involved.
We must understand, when we stand before God, we will be judged by what God said not what man thinks God said.
