Morning Devotion: Read Luke - The Triumphal Entry
Luke 19:28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem. 29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, 30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. 31 And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. 32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. 33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? 34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him. 35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. 36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. 37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
How often do make choices and take actions not know the hand of the Lord is in our doings. We must remember, God is omniscient and eternal; God knows everything from the beginning of time to the end of time. He has foreknowledge of all that takes place.
God created time, space and matter, consequently God is outside of time, space and matter looking in and upon all we do. We as believers are constantly in the presence of God.
I do not know about you but, that thought is pleasant to me. Knowing God watches me and cares for me brings great joy and comfort to my soul.
Jesus knew exactly were this foal would be when He needed it. He knew the master of the animal and knew what his reaction would be when the animal was sought after.
How could that be? How could one know such a thing?
First, It was prophesied in His word. God’s word never changes and every thing God says comes to fruition.
Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
Secondly, Jesus is God.
Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
1Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
In life and in making decisions in life, trust the Lord and make decisions that you know are pleasing in His sight and according to His will.
James 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
The first and greatest decision you can ever make is to place your faith and trust in Jesus to save your soul. That is what Jesus came to earth.
Jesus said in John 6:40 “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
The choice is still yours,
