Morning Devotion: Read Exodus - The Preparation Work Completed

Exodus 39:32  Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they. 33  And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets, 34  And the covering of rams' skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers' skins, and the vail of the covering, 35  The ark of the testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat, 36  The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread, 37  The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light, 38  And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door, 39  The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot, 40  The hangings of the court, his pillars, and his sockets, and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation, 41  The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office. 42  According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work. 43  And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

The preparation work for the tabernacle and all that pertained to it was finished according to the master plan which God had commanded.

Every wise and honest builder follows a master plan a blueprint for construction. The blue prints are usually reviewed for safety and code compliance and then approved.

The building is constructed according to the blue prints. They are inspected and reinspected as the building is being built. All this is done according to the plan.

The plan for the tabernacle was according to the one God patterned in heaven.

Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24  For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Moses then had the tabernacle built according the pattern shown to him by the Lord.

Hebrews 8:5  Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

God has a plan for everything. His plan from creation and for eternity will be accomplished. Nothing will be out of order. From the atoms and cells, the proteins and complete make up of man to all earthly created things, God is in control of His work. From the activities of man and the end thereof is God’s plan. The end times and all that happens are in God’s plan.

Colossians 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

God’s plan is that all things be according to His plan, decently and in order.

1Corinthians 14:40  Let all things be done decently and in order.

Ave Marias and Paternosters, and licking dust, and kissing rings and such were and are never in God’s plan. Burning candles, indulgences, baptism for the dead and paying for release from purgatory were and are never in God’s plan.

God’s plan for salvation is Jesus Christ; no other plan exists. Luke 2:11  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Moses looked upon what was made and prepared for the tabernacle and the priest and saw that is was according to God’s plan. He blessed the people.

Christian wouldn’t you enjoy the approval and blessing of God for doing things according to plan. Wouldn’t it be great to hear, “well done thou good and faithful servant”?

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
