Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
The virtuous woman should be the goal of every lovely lady. We know the virtuous woman spoken if is a wife. As the bride of Christ is to the Lord so the virtuous woman is to the husband.
The angels know the church is the virtuous bride of Christ the Lamb of God’s wife.
Revelation 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
The virtuous woman is not like the servant who was given a talent and hid it in the ground, this woman is prudent and works willingly with her hands. She, by no means is the sluggard but is ardent in her deportment.
She prepares early in the morning for her family the food necessary for the day.
In biblical times they did not have modern conveniences as mixers and blenders and such, everything was done by hand. Performing such tasks in the morning, in the predawn hours was a necessity, anything short of it left her family without the daily requirements for the day.
Her husband safely trusts she will do what needs to be done.
Last week we had a church from Georgia visit us. While they were with us they worked willingly with their hands cleaning our church, coordinating and prioritizing our craft room; they willingly prepared over one thousand bibles with inserts and labels making them ready for distribution. This was bride the Lambs wife making ready for the Lord’s work. I am so grateful for such folks.
Proverbs 31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
The virtuous woman, the Lambs wife, the church, is a wonderful picture of diligence.
Ladies, are you diligent in your home? Church are you diligent for the Lord?
As individuals, we have, out of love for the Lord, a great opportunity to serve, to be virtuous, to provide and work willingly with you hands for the Lord.
I am reminded how Paul the Apostle praises the church in Thessalonica for their service of love for Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 1:2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; 3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; 4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. 5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
The virtuous woman, the bride, the Lambs wife, says to you come and be saved.
Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
The choice is still yours,
