Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 31:16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
This dear faithful servant of the Lord, the virtuous woman, is not like many woman of today. The whole of this portion of scripture reveals not only virtue but faithfulness.
She is not lie the servant who hid his talent in the earth for fear but invests it and works hard to improve upon that which God provides.
Matthew 25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
She is the female version of Jabez - 1Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
The soul that knows that blessings come from the Lord is the soul that does not waste what God has given.
Psalms 9:10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
Daniel 11:32b …but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

This dear woman girds herself with strength and strengthens her arms, meaning she prepares herself for the business of the day setting out with a determination to accomplish great things. She is definitely not idle.
Every believer that looks to the Lord for strength has the capability to gird their lions or set their mind and heart to do the Lord’s work each day. They are strong in heart and mind because their strength come from God.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
2Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
Proverbs 31:18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
When all things are accomplished the virtuous woman perceives or realizes what she has accomplished is good and prosperous and sustainable for her family. Her candle continually burns and gives light; there is no lack for her faithfulness.
Remember, the church is much the same as we trust in the Lord girding our minds and setting out to accomplish much for God. We should never let the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ go out.
My Christian friend, are you faithful in your deportment for Jesus? Are you faithful moving forward for the Lord?
