Morning Devotion: Read Exodus - Idolatrous Play Time
Exodus 32:2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD. 6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
Our world is saturated with false gods. Men and women everywhere worship everything but the one and true God.
Worshipping false gods is always, always a deviation from truth and righteousness. And nearly always brings one to sexual improprieties and shame.
Exodus 32:25 And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)
1Corinthians 10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
In this case, Israel worshipped Apis the calf or bull god of Egypt. They rose up to play eat and drink (they got drunk) and commit fornication. This was all done in the open for all to see their shame.
There are many gods today that people worship. Just to name a few: Baal the worship of sun, moon and stars. (horoscopes are Baal worship.) Baal worship causes people to cut themselves and mark themselves as in tattoos. There is Bel the worship of the sun; there is Diana, and Ashtoreth and Ishstar, Isis, Venus, Saramis, all gods of fertility and sex. There is Nebo the god of speech, learning and writing directed against the true God. There is the Queen of heaven in Jeremiah chapter seven and forty four. This goddess is also called Saramis, and Venus and Astarte. Today she is called Mary. There is the false god called Molech which was for the destruction of babies to change life's circumstances and bad luck.

My friend, God calls us to worship Him, the one and true God who is righteous and clean and pure. Anything else has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Ephesians 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
The way to worship God is through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ the Righteous.
1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Would you turn from idolatry and turn to God; would you trust in Jesus?
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
