Morning Devotion: Read Exodus

Exodus 29:19  And thou shalt take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram. 20  Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about. 21  And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him. 22  Also thou shalt take of the ram the fat and the rump, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder; for it is a ram of consecration:

From verses nineteen through thirty five, God gives Moses the instructions for the offering of consecration for the priest who serve in the tabernacle and for the people. (I recommend you read the all the verses, which will be too much for this devotion.)

The offering of consecration included the blood of the sacrifice, a loaf of bread, a cake of oiled bread, a wafer and when the animal was slain, the right shoulder was to be eaten by those consecrated. They were to eat a portion of the offering in the door of the tabernacle and anything that remained was to be burnt. They were to go through this process for seven days straight.

We will notice in verse twenty that the blood was to be placed upon the right ear, the right thumb of their right hand and the big toe of their right foot. It was to signify their whole body from head to toe was consecrated to God.

My friend, you may claim to be a Christian; are you totally consecrated to the Lord? If you are a believer being born again, you have been bought with the blood of Christ and His blood cleanseth you from all sin. Are you living a consecrated life? What you wear, what you eat, what you do, what you think and what you say, are they representative of the Lord who saved you and separated you for His service? Are you offering spiritual sacrifices to God? Or, are you a nominal Christian who never really lives for the Lord?

1Peter 1:18  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1Peter 1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1Peter 2:1  Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

1Peter 2:5  Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

1Peter 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Would you let today be the day that you totally consecrate yourself to the Lord?

My friend, if you are not born-again, would you trust in the Lord Jesus to save your soul?

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
