Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs

Proverbs 30:29  There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going: 30  A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any; 31  A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.

Every book of the bible, every verse of the bible, every passage of the bible came from God via the living word of God (which is Jesus) and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God.

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

In the book of Revelation we see Jesus is the Word of God.

Revelation 19:11  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

The Holy Spirit which is God inspired man to write the word of God.

2Timothy 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God,…

2Peter 1:21  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

With the above in mind, let’s return to our text. Proverbs 30:29  There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going: 30  A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any; 31  A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.

As the Lion (The Lion of the tribe of Judah) is strongest, and as the greyhound is swift, and as the he goat is strong headed and can climb the rocks with ease, we see how all these relate to the king.

Our king is strongest and turns away from no man, He is swift in action, and He has a determination that is set according to the will of God the Father. There is no one who can rise up against my King. In fact, when Jesus returns, He will return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and will exact His perfect will.

Revelation 19:14  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

(Also read Psalm 2.)

My friend, I sincerely hope that you are subject to the King and have trusted in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. One day He will return, boldly, swiftly and with great intent and every knee will bow to the King. Would you bow now before it’s too late?

Philippians 2:10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

If you desire to be saved and experience the universal true love of God through His Son Jesus Christ you may.

By faith, simply pray this prayer believing with all your heart. "God I know I am a sinner in need of salvation. I now repent of my sin asking you to save me. Please come into my heart and save my soul for I cannot save myself. I now place my faith and trust in Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour whom you have sent."

Please let us know if you have made that decision.

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
