Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 29:24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
Nothing good comes from thievery.
Exodus 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
Stealing is found in all aspects of life. Governments steal, businesses steal, groups steal, and individuals steal.
To be a partner with a thief is brings one to a place where he or she abandons the sanctity of the soul placing themselves against God.
Proverbs 29:24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. 11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: 12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: 13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: 14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: 15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: 16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
If someone entices you to steal, refuse, leave, run, get away as fast a possible; retain your good character.

The soul that becomes a partner with a thief hears cursing and does nothing about it. The cursing mentioned is not swearing as in using curse words, but the cursing in the demise of another person’s welfare and stuff. It’s the despicable planing and even hurt of another to acquire.
When I think about the soul and those who partner with a thief I am reminded of those who chose Barrabas over the Lord Jesus Christ.
Pilot, a governor, was willing to release Jesus just before the passover. The sad things was that the people chose a thief over Jesus.
John 18:39 But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 40 Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

The sad part is that the people chose to have the curse of God upon themselves when they chose Barabbas.
Matthew 27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. 25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. 26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

Lord, today help us to be honest in all our dealings.
