Morning Devotion: Read Colossians
Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Here is the wonderful truth of salvation. God delivered us from the power of darkness. God translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. The Son is Jesus.
We have redemption through the blood of Jesus.
Jesus is the earthly image of the invisible God.
Jesus is the creator of all things in heaven and earth, all things.
Jesus is before all things and by Him all things, all things like you and me, consist.
Jesus is the head of the body, the church. The pope is not the head of the church, Jesus is.
Do you see? Jesus is preeminent. No other person or thing is greater than Jesus Christ who is God manifest in the flesh. Jesus is preeminent.
When you begin to realize this great truth, you will begin to understand the mystery of Christ.
1John 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
As we have said before, so say we now again; the name of Jesus means Jehovah is salvation, and the name of Christ means the anointed one or the messiah. Jesus Christ is Jehovah the Anointed one who died on calvary’s cross for you. Jesus is preeminent.
Would you trust in Jesus?
The choice is still yours,
