Morning Devotion: Read Genesis

Genesis 45:5  Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. 6  For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. 7  And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

All through this section of scriptures from chapter 37-50 we find great consternation. We find Joseph being abused, sold into slavery, lied about and hated. We find Joseph’s brothers struggling with their sin and with the possible loss of Benjamin and the eventual death of Jacob at that loss.

However, God sent Joseph before them to preserve life.

My friend, God has sent another one to preserve life and His name is Jesus.

John 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

1John 4:9  In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

There may be struggles and consternation on your life, there may be ilks and angst that trouble you and the future may even look bleak. Just remember, God is in the forefront and has prepared a way for you.

He desires the best for you if you will let God have control of your life first by letting Jesus save your soul and secondly let Jesus have control of your life.

God has sent Jesus to preserve life.

1John 5:11  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Do you have life; do you have life eternal?

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
