Morning Devotion: Read Exodus 5

Exodus 5:20  And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh: 21  And they said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us. 22  And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me? 23  For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.

Moses was sent by God along with Aaron his brother to stand before Pharaoh to facilitate the release of God’s people from the bondage of Egypt. In the process of their release the people of God were being treated more harshly than before. Life was harder for them since Moses showed up.

Their complaint was so egregious that it affected Moses causing Him to go to God and question the process.

God has a plan, and God will work His plan according to His will. Sometimes the plan or process of God plan makes things in life hard. It may cause you to question both God and the process by which God works. It may cause you to question the leadership which God has placed in your life.

God tells us to do all things without complaining. Philippians 2:14  Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

As we enter into the prophetic end times according to God’s plan, there will be great consternation and great angst that accompany what we as Christians call the birth pangs before Jesus returns. In other words, life will get harder and harder and things will change for the worse just as a woman has birth pangs. The pangs are hardest just before the delivery.

Isaiah 13:6  Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. 7  Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt: 8  And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. 9  Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. 10  For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. 11  And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

As a believer, when life gets hard, don’t complain and don’t blame others, God is on the cusp of working a great deliverance in your life.

Just remember, troubles are not forever. Some are either entering into a trial or in the midst of a trial or coming out of a trial. The trial dose not last forever, God does, trust in the Lord and do so without complaint. Complaint effects everyone.

Be trusting, be positive in knowing God is working.

Israel was eventually delivered and eventually brought into the promised land.

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

The first step in trusting God is trusting in His only begotten Son the Lord Jesus Christ. Then, trust Him who saved you to take care of you.

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
